CPT Stephen McNew was born in Winters, Texas. He was commissioned through ROTC in 2012 from Texas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English. After graduating from EBOLC, CPT McNew was assigned as a Platoon Leader in the 302nd Engineer Company (VERT) at Camp Bullis, TX. He was then put on Title X orders as an AGR and was stationed at Fort Buchanan, PR, where he served as the Executive Officer and then Commander of the 471st Engineer Company (VERT) from 2014 to 2017. Following this assignment, he was assigned to the 458th Engineer Battalion (CBT HEAVY), where he deployed to Camp Taji, Iraq, from 2017-2018. Following this assignment, he was assigned to USARCENT at Shaw Air Force Base as part of the Army Reserve Engagement Cell. After attending the Engineer CCC, CPT McNew earned a Masters's Degree in Geological Engineering and certification as a Geospatial Engineer Officer. CPT McNew has been married for seven years to his wife, Juliet, and has one daughter, Ruby. They currently reside in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
