Master Sergeant Amanda Skatrud joined active duty in March of 1995. She completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training as a Paralegal Specialist at Fort Jackson, SC.  Her first duty assignment was the DISCOM Legal Center, 4th ID; from there, she left active duty and joined the U.S. Army Reserves. She served with the 214th Legal Operations Detachment, Fort Snelling, MN. In 2004 she joined Active Guard and Reserve as a USAR Recruiter. Her tour was completed in 2007, and she separated from the USAR. In 2010, she rejoined the USAR, reclassed to an Army Reserve Career Counselor, and served in that position until 2015. In 2015 she returned to the 214th Legal Support Organization and served as the Command Paralegal. In 2017, she was selected as the Senior Paralegal to deploy with the 143rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) to Kuwait. Upon her return, she transferred to serving as an Army Reserve Career Counselor. She resides with her husband and daughter in Eden Prairie, MN.
