LTC John D. Nguyen

Professor of Military Science

Lieutenant Colonel John D. Nguyen, a native of Richmond, Virginia, was commissioned from James Madison University in 2005. LTC Nguyen’s first unit, 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Dragon), 1st Infantry Division, at Fort Riley, Kansas. With the Dragon Brigade, LTC Nguyen served as a Battery Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader, and Fire Support Officer with a deployment to Operation Iraqi Freedom V in 2007. After deployment, LTC Nguyen attended the Infantry Captain’s Career course and returned to Fort Riley to serve with the 1st Brigade (Devil), 1st Infantry Division as a Battalion Assistant operations officer (BN A/S3) and Battalion Fire Direction Officer (BN FDO) for the Artillery Battalion, 1st Battalion, 5th Field Artillery.
