MAJ Lukas Wright

Major Lukas Wright is originally from Faribault, MN, and enlisted in the MN Army National Guard RNG 1997 as a Chemical Operations Specialist.  He was commissioned in 2004 through the MN Officer Candidate School.  MAJ Wright completed the Infantry Officer Basic Course and Ranger School and deployed as a Rifle Platoon Leader with A/2-135 IN from October 2005 to July 2007.  He later deployed to Afghanistan on a multi-national Afghan Army mentor team from December 2008 to November 2009.  Upon return, MAJ Wright was assigned as the S3 Air for 2-135 IN before taking command of B/2-135 IN and deploying to Kuwait in support of Operation New Dawn from May 2011 to May 2012.  Following the deployment, MAJ Wright completed an active duty tour as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the Fighting Saints Battalion – St. John’s, MN, before obtaining an Active Guard Reserve position with the MN Recruiting and Retention Battalion in 2014.  MAJ Wright was subsequently assigned as the Secretary to the General Staff for the 34th Infantry Division from June 2015 to 2016 and then took the position of Executive Officer of 2-135 IN from June 2016 to September 2018.  MAJ Wright’s most recent assignment was as the Brigade S3 for the 1/34 Armored Brigade Combat Team.  MAJ Wright resides with his wife and two sons in Hugo, MN.
