Kienholz

Major Joseph Kienholz is originally from Lake Crystal, Minnesota. He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, and was commissioned through ROTC in 2012. After completing the FABOLC, MAJ Kienholz’s first assignment was with A Battery, 1377th FAR (Air Assault) at JBLM, WA, where he served as Platoon FDO and Battery XO. 

In 2014, he was reassigned to HHB, 5-3rd FA, where he served as Battery XO. He deployed to the UAE as part of Operation Enduring Freedom/Spartan Shield from 2014 to 2015. MAJ Kienholz was the Operations Officer for B Battery, 5-3rd FA upon redeployment. Following FACCC, MAJ Kienholz was selected as a FABOLC Gunnery Instructor at Fort Sill, OK. 

He commanded A Battery, 1-78th FA from 2018-2019, and HHB, 428th Field Artillery Brigade from 2019-2020. 

MAJ Kienholz has been married for ten years to his wife, Katie, and they have three children, Reuben, Rebecca, and Regan. They currently reside in Woodbury, Minnesota.
