Color Guard Team Description

LFL Logo

Color Guard is a Fall and Spring specialty team for the University of Minnesota Army ROTC program. Practices start in September and go through December, then they start up again in late January and end in early May. During the summer, we also have events that we are asked to attend. Our Army Color Guard team is represented in each

home football game the Golden Gophers have alongside the Navy/Marine and Air Force ROTC programs during the presentation of the colors. The weekly practices enable cadets to gain helpful knowledge of Drills and Ceremonies (D&C) that will help them be well-rounded cadets and future officers. Each year, the team is afforded many unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like presenting colors at the NCAA Women's Final Four Championship, Frozen Faceoff Championship, St. Paul St. Patrick's Day Parade, Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade, government ceremonies, Folds of Honor events, and many more within one year. Being a member of the Color Guard team allows joint training and camaraderie between services. It builds D&C skills to last throughout your military career and is a great way to represent your university and service.
