Captain David Mulcahy currently serves as the Military Science III (MSIII) Instructor with the Army ROTC program at the University of Minnesota. Captain Mulcahy enlisted in the United States Army in August 2011 as an Infantryman. During his nine years as an enlisted Soldier, he served in numerous leadership positions, including Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Platoon Sergeant. His enlisted experience provided a strong foundation in tactical leadership and Soldier development.  

In 2020, Captain Mulcahy was selected to attend the University of Wisconsin–Stout through the Army's Green to Gold Program. Upon earning his bachelor's degree, he commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army. Following commissioning, Captain Mulcahy was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division, where he served as an ICP Platoon Leader and Battalion Intelligence Officer (S-2). He is a graduate of the Maneuver Captain's Career Course. Captain Mulcahy has served in the United States Army for over 14 years and remains committed to developing adaptive leaders of character for the Army Profession. 

Captain Mulcahy resides in Wisconsin with his wife, Bre, and their four children: Grant, Collins, Ada, and Callan.
