The Cadet Battalion Staff is formed from the senior class or MSIVs at the beginning of each semester. Performance in ROTC and Advanced Camp, academics, and overall accomplishments dictate the appointment criteria.

The Cadet Chain of Command assists the Professor of Military Science (PMS) and Cadre in accomplishing battalion tasks and responsibilities. It also trains and develops subordinates. The Cadet Chain of Command includes four unit levels: battalion, company, platoon, and squad.
