Erika is originally from San Diego, CA, and began working at the University of Minnesota in October 2024 as a Human Resources Assistant. Her previous position before arriving in Minnesota was as a member of the Commander's Support Staff for the 357th Fighter Squadron, the only active-duty A-10 fighter pilot training unit in the U.S. Air Force. 

Her background includes 16 years in the Air Force with deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Germany. She enlisted in the active-duty Air Force in 2008 as an Air Transportation member and is currently serving in the Air Force Reserves as the Senior Enlisted Leader of the 58th Aerial Port Squadron at Westover Air Reserve Base, MA.
