SFC Peters

SFC Thomas Peters enlisted in the U.S Army in 2012 and is originally from Chanhassen, Minnesota. He completed Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division from 2013 to 2019, serving in every position in an infantry platoon and an infantry reconnaissance platoon. He deployed to Afghanistan twice during his time with the Polar Bears. SFC Peters was then reassigned to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he served as a hand grenade instructor, Drill Sergeant, and Senior Drill Sergeant. Upon completion of this assignment, he returned to Fort Drum, NY. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Mobile Brigade Combat Team as a Platoon Sergeant and later as a Multi-Purpose Company First Sergeant. He deployed to Kuwait in 2025 for 9 months, where he conducted partner training exercises. His most recent reassignment has brought him back to his home state of Minnesota.  

SFC Peters' military and civilian education includes the Basic Leaders Course (Commandant's List), Advanced Leaders Course, Maneuver Senior Leaders Course (Commandant's List), Drill Sergeant School, Basic Airborne Course, Air Assault School, Rifle Platoon Weapons Master Trainer Course, Master Resiliency Trainer, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Company Intelligence Support Team Course, and Foreign Weapons Course. SFC Peters has obtained an Associate degree in Management.

SFC Peters' awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3rd Award), Master Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Basic Army Instructor Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Badge. SFC Peters resides in Victoria, Minnesota, with his wife and daughter.
