SFC Daniel Huss enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2010 and is originally from Brainerd, Minnesota. He completed Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served with the 3rd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment at Baumholder, Germany, as a Rifleman (11B) from 2010 to 2011, and with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment at Fort Riley, Kansas, as an Infantry Team Leader (11B) from 2011 to 2012. SFC Huss served with 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 2014 to 2025 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, at Camp Humphreys, South Korea, and at Torii Station, Okinawa, Japan. He held roles as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant (18C) and as a Special Forces Intelligence Sergeant (18F).
SFC Huss deployed once to Afghanistan for 12 months in support of the Global War on Terrorism and has numerous deployments to the Indo-Pacific region in support of counter-near-peer operations and foreign internal defense activities.
SFC Huss’ military and civilian education includes the Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Unit Armorer Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Airborne School, Special Forces Qualification Course, SERE School – High Risk, Combat Diver Qualification Course, Combat Dive Supervisor Course, Special Forces Sniper Course, Static Line Jumpmaster Course, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course, Operator Advanced Course. SFC Huss has obtained an Associate’s degree in General Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis.
SFC Huss resides with his wife and two children in Lino Lakes, MN.
